Family Honors Utahn, 90 - Thomas Bingham
VERNAL - Members of his family honored Thomas Bingham of Maeser, early Utah settler, Monday at a reception and party commemorating his ninetieth birthday anniversity. Mr. Bingham - was born August 12, 1850, on a homestead located on the present site of Ogden, 15 days before surveying was begun for the city. His father was Thomas Bingham Sr., member of the Mormon battalion. His mother was Carron Happock Holladay. After leaving Ogden, Mr. Bingham lived at Huntsville for several years, then moved to Ashley valley, where he has lived since. Active in L. D. S. church work Mr. Bingham was superintendent of the Maeser Sunday School for 23 years. He has served as a member of the Uintah L. D. S. stake high council and in the Maeser bishopric. |
